At least in the PTU.

I was playing around in the prospector during the 3.2.1b (I think) patch and decided to log out using the bed.

3.2.1c dropped, I downloaded the patch and logged into crusader. When the game finally loaded up, I saw unfamiliar surroundings. Then I realised that I logged into the game from the bed of the prospector!

A pleasant surprise indeed. Things are certainly slowly falling into place.

I'm ashamed to say I've been playing since 3.0 and never knew how flairs worked or what bindings they were. Today I went through and changed everything to the way I like it and made sure to check out flares and lo and behold I'm not dying after 10 seconds.

So due to a little bug I ran into recently, I had the opportunity to do a little science in Star Citizen, and I found some interesting results.

I happened to find myself in EVA just outside the gravity well of Yela, (Just over 31,000 altitude), and decided to do some limited testing on the Gravity of Star Citizen and I found some interesting results:

I nudged myself into the gravity of the moon and it took 15 minutes, 4 seconds to fall to the surface of Yela in EVA, and ended with a predictable death on impact.

I then returned to just within of Yela's gravity well in a Cutlass black, opened all the doors, and cut the power to the whole ship and let it freefall all the way down. The surprising result is that it took only 5 minutes and 14 seconds to fall, just over 1/3rd the time.

Relative wind resistance to mass might slow a human body falling more than a ship, I don't know, but that seemed like a much bigger difference than I should have expected, especially with Yela having only a thin atmosphere. Can any physics experts weigh in on how accurate this is? I'm just curious to see.

And, on a fun side note, without crash damage to ships, the cutlass bounced and spun enough that I passed out several times while just standing in the hold, and eventually died before the ship settled into place.

Titan renegade to regular titan?

So I own a Titan renegade and I love the avenger chassis. I want a cutlass black but don't want to get rid of my avenger. So I was thinking of melting my renegade buying and buying a Titan. Then I have 25 towards the cutlass. Besides the slightly higher afterburner speed and different loafout is there really any difference between the two?

I used to be a HOSAS user. Everything made sense and this is how I came to understand the game. Then my sticks broke on me and I'm back to using M/KB.

I cannot, for the life of me, keep a target lined up with whatever bullshit has been done to the mouse controls. I feel like I have to slam the mouse around to get it to move, which of course is not conducive to aim in any sense. It's like there's an unremovable deadzone on all mouse inputs that makes any kind of precision impossible. And I have no idea what to do except quit playing until I can get sticks...which, with how broke I am right now, might as well be never.

It's come to our attention that pirates are demanding ransom for players to use CryAstro. In order to see why, I reluctantly became a criminal myself and found this mission:

Apprently, CIG themselves have created an in-game mission that pays players to literally "fly to a Refueling Station and unleash some major chaos and destruction"!

Apparently, this is CIG-sanctioned gameplay and not griefing. Thus, the only way to remove the pirates is by force. Fortunately, AotW, a professional mercenary organization, is taking contracts to do just that and free up CryAstro for use.

Our intel reports the pirates are charging anywhere from 500 to 2000 UEC for access to CryAstro, so we will remove any pirates for 250C.

When Arc Corp comes out I would love to have habitations like this act as the spawning zones high up in skyscrapers where you can look out at the air traffic. Then being able to go down a glass elevator on the side of the building down to the landing zone would also be spectacular.

Anybody else like the idea of not having apartments but having little spaces like the ship terminal area in Olisar to hang out in? I like the concept of just chilling in a bar or lounge outside of an EZ Hab or truck stop to socialize instead of having to buy a social space in the form of an apartment. Also who wants an apartment when you can host a party on your friend's 600i?
