Much of the reasoning behind Evocati was that the massive daily patches were crippling, and normal players would be excessively hindered by downloading almost 60gb a day, while Evocati knew what they were signing up for.

With that massive issue finally being fixed, and one of the biggest blockers regarding Evocati lifted, is it possible they may merely be replaced by straight-away PTU waves, as extremely early builds and guided testing is now far easier to perform?

I am aware that some users here that watch ATV week after week in full have already seen this and heard about it. It seems as though
from Around the Verse is very much relevant now since there have been questions regarding current optimization with Evocati.

TL;DR - This video covers their implementation of Serialized Variables which some work may have gone into 3.0, but mostly it won't be fully implemented until later. This will help performance and reduce draw calls from the server to the clients. So until they are done getting all their systems to work with Serialized Variables (which won't be 3.0 or perhaps even 3.1) we will still see reduced frame rate.

Generally, I am busy enough that I rarely have time to play any game with even one other friend; my schedule is often out of sync with others in the America region.

I know quite a bit about the AI Companions that will be available in Star Citizen as I recall (the early days) witnessing the first statement about this. Having these companions is preferential to me, though I would still occasionally swap them out for a real world friend or two.

I was excited to hear the news that AI companions (for hire ofc) would be available, however more recently we've heard that utilizing AI companions wouldn't be as "powerful" or useful as real players. Though technically this makes sense, as achieving such a complexity with AI in a game is both taxing (CPU) and difficult to develop, I would like to be able to play the game in its full without having to constantly rely on the schedules of my friends, or play at inconvenient times of the day. Though it is understandable that the AI shouldn't be TOO overpowered as to virtually become an aimbot, I think they should be able to challenge real life gamers of all skill levels, possibly based on the recurring cost for hiring them.

Also, as some people may have near perfect schedules with their friends to play at the same time, and would sometimes consistently have players crewing their ship for free (since they are friends), it would be nice to have a AI companion that could be acquired for no RECURRING costs. Possibly by doing a mission or something similar to gain their trust, or just paying a large sum in full all at once. I know that it was previously mentioned that over time gaining trust of the AI companion may reduce their costs, but I am talking about something that would counter the constantly having real world friends on (crew for free) scenario.

On another note, I think it would also be good to have AI that can challenge real world players not just in terms of being a companion but also as opponents. In the case that there are few players in a system, or for some reason little people are online, it would be nice to have something to fill that gap such as challenging AI opponents. So in effect this could benefit not just companion game-play but other aspects as well.

Finally, is it really feasible to develop such an AI that would remain challenging? I know that some will argue the AI needs to not only be challenging but realistic as well, and since this game has so many systems it will be difficult to achieve that feat. I too believe that AI companions should be realistic as well, but I don't believe that they need to be "perfect".

Will it be possible to fly a ship into the hangar of another and board that way or are ships relegated to a certain distance of a shielded ship (hangar or general hull contact) until the shields are down?

Also, what is the benefit of returning a stolen ship if the victim has spawned another via insurance (aside from cargo and modules not insured)? Does the finder get to keep it or is the reward substantial enough to return it? Does it go back to the owner?

I love how we can be smugglers and pirates and explorers and such, but it would be so cool to be able to join the military. Have it be an in game type of guild. Get a uee ship, and they give you your missions like guard this, track this, illegalizers here, go get em. I would love to be a part and be a space policeman.
