If the cutlass black goes up in price, would you expect the cutlass red and blue to also increase?

I'm curious how many who have access to the PTU can actually provide productive tests. I for one keep getting such low frame-rates that I can't really test and I'm wondering if I'm just not trying to re-connect enough times to get a better server or missing something...
Post at: Do 7. Dez 2017, 00:10

Let me start by stating this is not a complaint post but an information gathering post for my own edification. :)

Processor: i7-4820K 3.7GHz RAM: 32GB Hard Drive: SSD Graphics: eVGA GeForce 980ti Superclocked

I know others are reporting their specs as good or better on average but also getting 4 - 10 FPS usually. There's also the crashing before I can really get anywhere to test anything useful.

I'm just curious how many are actually testing out there and providing the results in numbers CIG really needs. I ask because I notice the "known issues" listings in the patch notes never list this apparently wide-spread issue...

Just want to make sure I don't need to do something different so I can really play my testing hand like the rest.

I can't wait until this hits mainstream.
Post at: Do 7. Dez 2017, 00:33
By /u/Enzil

Obviously while it's being made it's not getting as much coverage, which CIG probably know and are reserving the marketing budget for release, but when it's completed just imagine how much this game is going to blow up!

We all know this is going to be a ground breaking game that's going to revolutionize the gaming industry but lots of people don't. People will be buying PCs for this game! It will be over billboards, shop windows, TV, radio and all over the internet. People are going to be unsubcribing from WoW for this (a game not even comparable).

Just the anticipation of that boom keeps me locked to Star Citizen news and I can't wait to say I told you so to some people. Sorry I'm high and really want this game to come out and I'm impatient.

Racing tracks on the moons.
Post at: Do 7. Dez 2017, 00:37

So I have been wondering ever since I heard about it from the Evocati leaks, but does anyone know where one might find the racing tracks on the moons in the PTU for 3.0?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OMG This new Patch might almost be it. 15 minutes of game-play at very high graphics and ok to good FPS around Levski.

So I was playing with a friend today and guys, this might be the best game ever period. Sorry for the Dutch commentary but me and my friend where just ecstatic about the graphics and performance of this patch. Anyway Frame-rate is bearable to ok and lag is so much better than in previous patches. CPU spikes still happen but far less frequent.

I have 3 5 minute video's Landing at Levski in a Vanguard:

Running Around Levski:

And Leaving Levski in a Khartu All

Special bonus Daymar Khartu all sunrise chase:

Looking at all the gaming headlines and reddit posts over the years leading up to the most recent debacles with EA, I can't help but feel like what's happening here is more than just making The Best Damn Space Sim.
Post at: Do 7. Dez 2017, 00:43
By /u/Jack_Flash86

I want to avoid turning this into what some might call a "circle jerk" thread about SC(and probably beating that dead horse some more), but as someone who remembers fondly the days of getting a new game and having the complete experience there, I feel like this needs to be kept at the forefront of every gamer's mind when it comes to new games. And that is not only getting a complete experience, but also embracing the push to new technology, new interactions, new mediums. Hell, the best years throughout school were during the first console wars and the jump to 64 bit before that. How amazing it was to see your 2D characters finally realized in 3D block arms and legs as if it opened up a whole new world of possibilities in gaming. How about when Halo first came out and blew your mind away with 4 player coop and LAN parties for PVP for all you console shooters out there.

Nowadays it's rare you'll find a game that even delivers a complete experience without a caveat for day one DLC, much less one that's willing to push the technology of gaming further and try something bold. Publishers have decreed that you aren't allowed free expansions, you aren't allowed to play split screen with your buddies because(I'm stealing from Angry Joe here) "Fuck you give me money". Games as a service is now the norm. And not just that, you don't get the whole game anymore. You get pieces of it, and you get to pay to beta test it after it's so-called "official release". Then they want more for the rest of the game. None of these are new, ground-breaking ideas. Yearly iterations is where it's at: minimal effort for maximum profit.

I guess the point I'm trying to make it whether or not the community here likes the amount of time its taking or the scope it's reaching I think we can all agree that in spite of all the BS that's happening in the mainstream gaming community CIG, and most importantly you as backers who've given them this opportunity to circumvent the trappings of publisher backing, are making a statement that a game CAN have a full experience. That games CAN introduce new technology and take chances because ultimately it's better for the greater market.

I'm just hoping the NN dismantling doesn't destroy the internet before it sees the light of day.

I honestly don't know any other purpose for this desk or who would ever buy such a thing.

Operation Pitchfork. Is it still a thing? What about impact?
Post at: Do 7. Dez 2017, 01:41
By /u/ruat_caelum

I'm not following SC closely, honestly because I can come back to it and just be amazed at the progress. But, I was wondering if people are still planning a pitchfork type event? If so will that have impact on borders or start a war? etc. has there been feedback from the SC people on what impact if any that will have.

Will it start day one ? or will we have enough time to complete the stand alone part then enter the universe?

Can't spawn or select my M50 from either the hangar or the Terminals at Port Olisar. Only Origin ship that is currently selectable is the 315p.

Anyone else having same issue?

I really hope CIG plans to include missions without exact markers in the future.
Post at: Do 7. Dez 2017, 02:11
By /u/ataraxic89

Right now missions seem to basically pinpoint your task. No searching at all.

I really hope CIG moves to missions more like the Witcher 3 where you have areas to search, or even tracks (or engine trails) to follow.

This is not a critique of the current system as its an early version. But this is certainly not a standard feature in games today. Most games are happy to point you directly from objective A, to B, to C, and done. The player never has to think for a second. Or even really interact in any way beyond skipping dialogue and shooting the baddies.

I beleive more interesting missions can be part of their procedural missions system. And I hope this is a part of their plans.
