I don't own a set of these joysticks (yet), but from what I saw on Noobifier's channel, they seem like a decent fit for Star Citizen. Even though I would prefer a twist axis for full 6 DOF, I decided to create a custom binding for a dual setup. https://i.imgur.com/3tyIYk7.png

So as You probably know, sometimes your ship throttle is stuck at one posiotion causing you to go full/reduced/zero speed no matter what your throttle position was on. It cost me countless ship respawns and spent some good hours trying to figure out whats up. Heres quick guide on how to get rid of that pesky bug:

Step 1. Deploy landing gear (press N), make sure gear is deployed

Step 2. Turn on decoupled mode (press V)

Step 3. Retract landing gear (Press N)

Step 4. Toggle decoupled mode (press V)

Step 5. Apply throttle up/down (press W or S)

That easy. Hope you have a great day fellow Citizens.

I've been trying to find threads already about this topic, but I either can't locate them, or they don't exist.

Part one - Ship customization Part two - gameplay

Part one

First question: Are there ship weapons available for purchase in game? I went to Dumper's Depot and I didn't see any.

Second question: How do I tell when the item in dumpers depot is better than the item I already have? There's no way to check stats without looking at the raw numbers, and there's no way as far as I can tell to see the stats for both the item you want to purchase, and the item it would replace at the same time. Third question: Why oh why isn't there more information displayed when looking at an item to purchase? I don't even know what any of these things are until I actually open the buy tab.

Part two

Question one: Why is my Mustang suddenly so worthless in combat? I only just got on 3.0, but back on 2.6.3 I could use the Mustang as a fairly powerful light fighter. Tonight it took me about ten minutes to kill an Aurora. Same ship, same guns.

Question two: Why is prone bound to capslock? Like... was that really the best choice you had?

Question three: How do I tell how much heat has built up in my ships guns/how much ammo they have? The HUD seems really unintuitive and I'm not sure where to look.

Question four: Who's idea was it to have ships only render in when they're really close? Several times during combat I've just been shooting at the center of an empty square because the enemy ship was to far away to actually bother rendering in.

Question five: We'll get the ability to actually buy new ships in 3.1, right? Because I'm feeling really stuck right now in a crappy Mustang

Question six: Why do mission pay jack? How am I supposed to buy anything, let alone a new ship come 3.1, when risking my life to kill a couple pirates only gives about 80 aUEC?

I have invested a shitload of money into ships. More than I ever thought I would spend on any game. This leaves me conflicted: although I want my investment to have some value, I don't in any way want to have an in-game advantage on players that did not empty their wallet to support this game. I avoided SW Battlefront II for this reason. I don't want to have an edge in game-play, but I want my ships to hold their value. The solution seems easy: make ships that offer the same exact stats easy to acquire (excluding capital ships,) while limiting rare ships to a point where they continue to be rare. In other words: I want there to be a ship that is capable of everything that the 890 Jump is capable of that can be obtainable with a few months of play. I don't want to have an advantage here. But if the same exact ship that I spent hundreds of dollars on is available to everyone after a few months of play, I would be seriously pissed. There are many who say "you are not buying, you are pledging," but that shit doesn't fly. CIG isn't a charity--they are a capitalist enterprise. Again: I don't want a game-play advantage, but I do want to feel like I have an asset. I'm sure I'm not alone here. I would legit feel alienated if every rare ship could be found in everyone's hangar. And I'm sure that many others that spent more than they should have would feel the same. And those same people, like it are not, will be the financial backbone of the game going forward. I don't want an advantage, I just want assets to have value. The skins in CS:GO, Overwatch, DOTA 2 and countless other games don't effect game-play, but they still have value because they maintain a level of rarity. I would be satisfied if there was simply an aesthetic difference that set pledge ships apart. I think it is a good compromise, and hope CIG looks into this model to deal with what is a pretty big elephant in the room.
