Any tips to improve FPS?

I only have a GTX970 so its not perfect but good. and on LOW settings i still hover around 40ish Frames... I havent played this game sense 1.6 update and now its 3.0 and i havent seen 1% improvements for FPS...

I HOPE nothing has been optimized so i can still have hope for the FPS of this game.. but Squadron 42 is coming out this year so ive heard... so shouldnt it be pretty much optimized??? o.o

Or are they making this game for GPU's that are not even released yet...?

cargo loading & mining problems

If you die and have to claim insurance you may have come across a small bug where you're unable to load mining materials on your ship.

I've found a solution to this. simply call into the mine area before collection (by hitting the WiFi symbol) and it sorts the problem out.

Took me a while to find a work around, but I hope that helps people out.

Genisis Starliner - So let's humour this idea for a moment. You're flying through the vastness of space..... beautiful views, world class customer servi.......... game crashes......

What happens to your clients?

Do your passengers die and you get a crime rating? Or when your ship disappears is there going to be a mass rescue operation mission.

Upon insurance claim will we need to get the seat detailed? If I'm in a plane and the flight crew happens to vanish there maybe a little poop coming out.

Anyways just an on the toilet thought.

Want to send a friend a beginner's game package ($45 Aurora package) for his birthday, but cannot for the life of me find any option to gift a package. Am I blind or does such an option not exist?

I tried searching both the subreddit and RSI.com but the latter didn't turn up anything relevant, and the former was just a bunch of Reddit posts about "Look at the Star Citizen shirt/other merch that my SO gifted me for Christmas!"

I haven't really found anything recent mentioned about in in searching, and I know I'm not the only one that feels this way; are we ever going to see the ability to fire long range missiles?

By long range I mean 100km+

The current short range missiles are fine for dogfighting (I know CR is shooting for WWII-style dogfights), but it would be so much fun, and add tons to battle mechanics if we're eventually able to have long range missiles as well. Being able to detect incoming missiles and have the ability to have time to send crew members to their battlestations to launch countermeasures (ie. Lock on and intercept incoming missiles with a counter missile, rather than just close range chaff/flares/etc), or even have a smaller fighter sent out to intercept with ballistics or similar would be awesome.

I've read somewhere that the tali is supposed to have torp's with a range of 40km or so, which is better, but IMO still not long enough range. I'd love to see us be able to pick up an incoming missile with at least 30-60 seconds before impact, and have time to execute a plan accordingly.

This would also give us more of a "space is huge" feeling, since our enemies would be attacking from such a large distance that we could only see them as blips on our radar.

Full disclosure: I just finished watching "The Last Ship" and the type of naval warfare depicted in that show would translate amazingly to space battles in SC :)

tl;dr: While the current (extremely) short range missiles are fun; It would be awesome to be able to fire/detect incoming missiles/torpedoes from 100km+ eventually, and have all the added gameplay elements associated with that ability.

The talk of insurance spreading down to the item level is concerning.

I shouldn't be able to just respawn, pull up my mobiglass and, like magic, all my stuff is there nice and safe; that will get boring very quickly. I've played WoW for years and mechanics like that are what make themeparks, not sandboxes.

If I'm planet side with my new armor equipped, 3 med pens, and my shiny new SMG and another player on a bounty mission comes and executes me all of the stuff on my body should be lootable, I'd go as far to say that he should be able to strip components off of my ship if its accessible and hack my mobiglas to steal some of my UEC.

If I lose my hard earned things, then I will be on a mission to regain my lost items, either by running missions or hunting down the bounty hunter. If I never lose my things and I've gotten all there is to get in the verse item wise, what incentive do I have to continue earning UEC?
