So I'm just checking in on star citizen to see whats changed, I last played when they first released Arena Commander. Unfortunately the website wont let me download the game saying I have to purchase a ship package...Funny thing is I already own an aura LN game package which comes with

I don't want to buy another aurora or a mutsang. Does this mean I cant play until its released which kinda sucks seeing as I was allowed to play the alpha a while ago.

Hello, this is the Noobifier.

We got our first look at the Vulcan on around the verse today and here's what we know so far.

The VULCAN is the first Concept ship of 2018, and was called a jack of all trades ship that will allow players to provide Repair, Refuel and Rearming service.

It was called a starter ship, however based on its size, and its potential gameplay, I personally expect it to be at or just below $200.

The mechanics are based on 4 drones which can provide the three services. The drones can perform only one each time its sent from the ship. The Vulcan has a pair of drone control stations, plus a pilot with crew quarters to enable extended missions.

The Vulcan shares its fuel reserves with the onboard service tanks so it will likely loiter or push deep into space without support. It looks like efforts were taken to create a Tough Tank Hull.

The 12 SCU cargo is meant to allow you to have spares and ammo to support your role. The ship looks slightly larger than a Cutlass and I am very excited to see this a universal support ship added to the fleet.

There is no rush as the Sale begins on the 22nd of Feb until the end of march. I expect it to be available for War Bond and Credit and super versatile. I consider that if one was limited to only two ships, The pairing of a Cutlass and a Vulcan would be perfect.

One has cargo and some firepower, the other does the heavy lifting.

I would not be surprised to see these two ships operating together.

2018 LOCATIONS ROADMAP explained - #nobullshit - Star Citizen

Hello this is the Noobifier, and welcome to a no Bullshit rundown of what new Game Locations are planned to be made ready in twenty eighteen.

It should be obvious that these are goals and not promises.

Its alpha and things change.

Lets begin.

The Roadmap is broken down into the yearly quarter cycles.

This is how CIG plans to launch 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3. 3.1 Is expected in March and its planned to introduce. The Primary Goal for march is a polish on the Planetary Tech that we currently have. These aesthetic improvements will add plantlife to the toolset allowing developers to create more familiar landscapes.

The moons in 3.0 are mostly barren deserts, a big rock in space or iceworlds. 3.1 will lay the groundwork for plants and other assets required to portray a wider range of Biomes.

There is nothing planned for Q2, however, we have already seen Distress beacons move up on the schedule, so anything is possible,

Quarter 3 has a lot planned. Hurson is currently visible on the on the map in your mobiglass. It's pretty much just a teaser as none of the ships have the range to reach it. I like that the devs put it there as it lets the community get used to it. We saw hurston at the end of the Citizencon Demo and it's mostly a Desert with Industrial infrastructure.

This biome and will include new points of interest and locations.

Lorville is the major landing Zone On Hurston. I expect it to be similar in size as GrimHex or Levski. Hurston is also planned to have four moons, Arial, Aberdeen, Magsa and Ita. Each moon will be populated with their own locations and outposts.

The Updates to the Comms Array may seem trivial, however, they are responsible to track criminality and are due to be updated along with the introduction of the Small rest Stop. I feel we saw parts of the rest stop during the 2017 Citizencon Demo. We never go to see the interior, however we know that it will offer basic commerce, landing control AI, fuel and possibly some mission givers.

Q4 has an ambitious target.

The Release of ARCCorp Planet to the players. Once again, we were teased with this at CitCon. It remains the most memorable and impressive thing on my short list from that show. A Fully Procedural planet sized city that reminds me of epic Sci Fi locations like Blade Runner or Mega City One from Judge Dredd.

The Planet will include finally link Area 18 to the Persistent Universe. Since the end of 2015, Area 18 otherwise known as the Social Module, was our first glimpse of what Star Citizen would look like. In preparation for its integration into the PU, its no longer in the launch menu. Arc Corps will have two moons , Lyra and Wala with the regular points of interests. And rounding out the planned locations, on the twenty eighteen roadmap, is the Cargo Depot.

This will facilitate the larger ships providing a means to move and convert shipping containers.

In closing, as I have said in the past, the game development timeline can be seen as similar to building a sky scraper.

Lots of time spent laying the foundations with no visible tangible results, followed by a surge in construction.

Twenty Eighteen is that period of development where the tooling and foundation is ready to support construction. I know not all the deadlines will be met but I'm still excited to see the progress as its released.

The new show formats are helping a lot, and the increased activity on Spectrum. Feels more like a dialogue now between backers and devs, and less like I’m waiting for them to throw us a tiny bone that we all ravenously devour in 2 seconds and want more. I feel much more in the loop now. My only hope at this point is that they keep their quarterly release dates rock solid, and don’t let them slip at all. Their track record says this is unlikely, but they’d gain a lot respect if they really nail those dates.

I understand at this stage in development it doesn't run perfectly for anyone even with the most powerful computers.

I have read over many posts regarding specs but have read some contradicting things so wanted to get your opinion.

I am currently using, gtx 1060 6gb, 8gb RAM, i7-6700, SSD

I know generally it's recommended to have AT LEAST 16gb RAM, but I don't want to upgrade purely for this game if i'm going to run into problems elsewhere..

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the update on the Carrack! It felt like Jarred didn’t feel it was an update because there were no knew cool pictures to show off. However, that’s exactly what and update is! A change in status. The Carrack’s status has moved from active to paused. It’s great to have that knowledge instead of having to infer it from the lack of information. So thanks again for the update!

I’d love to have these “non-updates” as much as I would the picture rich variety going forward. If the last we know about a ship is that they are developing it. Then months pass most folks assume it’s now months further along. To know that it’s been placed on hold is a great way to help manage expectations. I’m guessing more frustration comes from lack of info than from being told priorities have changed.

Am I the only one that feels this way?
