Lately I've been looking into buying myself a HOTAS, and I'm deciding between the thrustmaster hotas warthog a10c, thrustmaster hotas t flight x, and thrustmaster t.flight hotas 4.

Does anyone happen to have any experience with them? How do they fare and what's the best one to get for Star Citizen?

Let me lay it down. Sorry it has to be lengthy, but I hope I can create a picture of what we want.

I'm part of a clan that's made up of a group of adults (including a bunch of (married) couples) that play open-world build-stuff-yourself games together like ARK:Survival Evolved, Minecraft and since recently Stardew Valley. We're experienced with handling griefing and diplomacy. We've been looking at Star Citizen for a long time now but are reluctant because it doesn't appear to become very stable yet. The reason we want it is clear though; not everyone likes combat (especially the ladies) and want to do things like farming, decorating and support while others handle combat, and Star Citizen seems fantastic for that if you're in a group. So what we did in other games is create a system where everyone commits 30% of what they earn as a tax for the collective group and 70% they keep themselves (e.g. if two guys have a farm in Minecraft, they can keep 70% of it themselves and the rest is stored for something the entire group uses) You can get small stuff from the group for free to get started/reimbursement but you need to get stuff done yourself to get yourself/you and the wife a nice house, decoration or big weapons, animals etc. If you fight for defense/offense you keep all your loot to yourself with 0 taxes, and this system works perfectly for us because people still have their own agency, goals and things they can do.

We've been thinking about collectively buying a big ass ship like a Javelin plus a few fighters and roam the galaxy like the Star Trek Enterprise. However, this appears to lack options for giving people their own private sectors of the ship by rearranging decks and having them decorate it as they see fit from their own money. So, others are thinking of claiming ground on a garden planet and make a big ass farm and a village, a few carriers+fighters and distribute jobs. (yes we know about the agricultural ship but don't want it, it seems like a few carriers for transport and assigned jobs will work just as well if not better, plus, some want their own homes on that planet)

Is this feasible yet? Because we read about the possibility of farms on planets but haven't seen anything about ground-based defense (like hiring NPC's for tasks on the ground using anti-ship and anti-fighter and anti-user defense for raiders and griefers). Is anything in the game or planned yet? Or is it better to go with a Javelin instead?

Whenever the PTU first came out my friends and I played in it some but overall there just wasn't much of anything to do. So I figured I'd sit back and wait however that seems like it was ages ago and ever since then I haven't seen anything of real significance change or be added except for cargo missions?

We would love to come back and play again however with nothing really new to it makes it very difficult. Am I missing something? Has there been other developments that I don't know about? If not, is there any expectation we will be getting anything significantly new here this year even?

I see people say that people can run Star Citizen with easily 60 fps with a GTX 970 but then again some people I see gameplay of they're with 20 fps, so I thought lets get some outside opinion what do you think how the game would run on this specs? sorry if this gets posted a lot, most of the post I found were from like 2 years ago that matched were in the area of my specs

Didn't see a thread for something this important. Ben and Alexis have just left the LA office and is moving across country (road trip!) to Maryland. They won't have a regular role at CIG but Ben left open the possibility of events n' such if needed. Ben was an important part (for me at least) in getting me excited for the game and I think thats true of many people here. So best of luck Ben!

Does CIG extend upgrades to limited edition ships? I've owned a Freelancer since the beginning. I've had my eye on the Cutlass Black, and I've decided that it's the Cutlass that would better suit my needs for a ship that size. However, you can't trade down in price for an upgrade (not even a side-grade). So I'm weighing buying a Cutlass Black, and in the future, upgrading the Freelancer to either a Cat or a Starfarer.

My question is, will I be able to upgrade my Freelancer to a Starfarer or a Caterpillar during the short periods of time that CIG puts them on the market? Or are these ships not historically presented as an option for upgrade?
