Open on the fine print of a rum bottle's label on a fancy shelf.

The camera slowly pulls out Fallout-style and the sounds of a laser pistol firing fade in as the camera reveals two men in black and gold flight suits standing behind a bar, one already slumped over on the counter dead, the other firing shots at an assailant behind the camera. A burst of gunfire catches the survivor in the chest and he falls behind the bar, dead. The bar is riddled with bullet holes, and as the camera continues to pull out, the room is revealed to be full of signs of battle. Scorch marks on the walls, the corpses of AI security marines strewn up and down the halls, another wounded crew member in gold-trimmed gear on the floor, the bullet casings and dropped weapons scattered about.

"Clear."

A heavily-armored pirate clad in old-school armor walks slowly across the room, pausing for a second to aim his rifle at the wounded Gold crew and fire a shot through his head. The camera follows the Heavy as he walks into a sleek, even luxurious hallway. Owl-faced pirates run through the halls, some carrying boxes, some dragging wounded comrades or collecting items off the less-fortunate. The Heavy steps over a body as he enters a garage space filled with 3 beautiful, customized X1s where he's greeted by a pirate officer in a ninja-like helmet.

"Killed about 80k in AI crew but theres still at least 227,000 UEC in custom guns and components, Cap'. Should be able to ask a good ransom"

"Tell the owner it's 100k to my account or this place is ashes. Take the bikes too."

"Cool, he's outside."

The Heavy climbs into one of the X1s, pirates gather on the lift. An Owlface hits the lift and the garage floor drops down to reveal the sandy dunes of Daymar. Outside the lift wait a half dozen Dragonflies, which the pirates start to mount and start up. The X1 slowly drifts forward across the sand, looking back to reveal the 600i the "luxurious bar" really was all along. The ship's owner dressed in gold-trimmed gear kneels in the sand, the guns of two Owlfaces to his back.

The bikes rev up and take off across the desert towards a Caterpillar waiting in the distance with its side doors opened up. A Cutlass hovers nearby the Cat as a Buccaneer screams across the sky patrolling for incoming do-gooders. As the bikes reach the Cat and drift into the garage bay doors a voice comes over the comms.

"He'll pay, watch for the transaction."

"Cool. Get back on your ships, leave him in the dust."

The doors of the Caterpillar close as the deep rumble of Drake Interplanetary-branded engines roar to life through the ships hallways. Heavy dismounts his new X1 and climbs the ladder, heading towards the bridge. As the doors to the bridge open, the pilot and copilot excitedly chatter,

"New shipping mission announced near Levski just got sent out!"

"Seems like a good spot to find another mark. Let's go hit it"

The camera looks out through the front glass as the ship rises upward, the horizon disappearing from view to reveal Crusader in the distance. It's another good day to be a pirate. Yo ho ho.

A ship with 360 degree cameras instead of windows

You could get the 360 degree view we all crave by ditching windows and changing it to screens in the cockpit with cameras outside to match. The trade off of it is that the cameras can get damaged and turn off completely making you literally fly blind. You would have to take the risk of that but you could have the great view you need. This would make the ship balanced by offering a trade off.

When I watch videos of people landing on the planet surface to trade, etc., I tend to see them completely power down their ship. Wouldn't it be best to just power down the engines, leaving your power on and shields up?

Boarding/flight model

Alright, so I don't know if any/how many of you have watched The Expanse (great show btw) but here's what I'm thinking.

In The Expanse, boarding was basically a ship extending a depressurized walkway into another ship while warning them that they are getting boarded for a checkup in the Comms. (the comms part might be possible with VOIP).

Anyhow, will boarding work the same way? Alerting a ship that you are going to board them and doing these kinds of procedures?

And the topic of the Expanse leads me to talk about the flight model

Ships in The Expanse had to do realistic maneuvering with actual high g simulation as well as braking procedures, high g burns, and dogfights weren't star citizen style "noclip fly around with a bit of realism and shoot" but in my eyes realistic dogfights which were slower paced and maneuvering the ship was a big deal as they had a designated pilot to do that, while in Star Citizen you just pilot yourself in a wonky flight model and shoot and that's it.

I understand the topic of the flight model was talked about many many times by even CR himself saying that he didn't like the current dogfighting and flight model, so is anybody aware of what kind of flight model will be introduced later on? Even if realistic space flight would be a bit underwhelming, a sense of realism is always good especially for a simulator MMO. Will we just get a flight model like today except with maybe a bit more drag and better atmospheric flight, or full on "The Expanse" style flight with braking and challenging piloting?

For those who don't know the Rocinante controlled the Razorbackremotely once Naomi linked them up when physically within the cockpit of the Razorback. Later you can see Alex (but I'm sure it's anyone w/ access to the Rocinante) actually send control of the Razorback to his personal arm devices (kind've like their verison of Mobiglas but no projected screen). You can actually see the ship on his arm in this shot:

After that he calls in the Razorback (which was a safe distance away) to pick him up when he needs to go do something away from the Roci. Is controlling our nearby ships via Mobi a thing?

The New Anvil Hawk Ship Coming in 3.4

Sense this ship is meant to be used for security or bounty hunting, and officers and bounty hunters often have bikes, it would be really cool to have just enough cargo space to fit a nox or a dragonfly. I feel like this would really fit the fantasy of the badass bounty hunter with the sleek and agile ship and a really fast bike. Maybe there could be a variant that replaces the prisoner capsule with just enough cargo space for a bike.

I really like how they are making ships specifically designed for each fantasy someone might have and I think this would be a really cool touch for players like myself who are looking to make money by hunting down other players with bounties on their heads. Having an easily accessible bike also fits the whole city theme that ArcCorp has going on and could make for some Starwars Episode 3 moments (remember the chase scene at the beginning? with anakin and obiwan? was that episode 3?). These are just my thoughts, I would also love to see more "bounty hunting" ships in the future and im really looking forward to picking up the Hawk and flying her around Area 18 in 3.4.

I like the rework but why the hell didn't they fix the visual bugs last PTU before going live? Like when you open the cargo hatch from the outside and you can see the ship's insides. Or when you open it from the inside and you can't see outside, you only see black. The 600i got plenty of fixes but they can't be bothered to fix the titan. It's totally immersion breaking.
