Fantastic trailer. Loved it.

I do wish they'd stop showing ships yawing and rolling like that, as people may say it misrepresents the final SC flight model.

Granted, it would look janky and inelegant if the ships in the promotional cinematics actually flew like that in-game, but at least it would be truthful.

I am looking at upgrading one of my smaller ships to either a 300 series or the Mustang Beta. I like how the Mustang Beta has the bed, mini kitchen and bathroom all in one small compartment. Everything you would need for a longer than one day trip. Then I was taking a look at the 300i thinking it might be a better option because it has a little bit of cargo capacity. But when I go through the information I can find on the rework, I see no mention of it having that toilet/shower combo when it seems to have PLENTY of space for it. Why would there be that inconsistency in amenities of ships like that? Is it an oversight? Perhaps just something that wasn't mentioned and it does have it? Is there some information I am missing that indicates that it does?

Any opinions or ideas on another ship I could use in place of these that have those options?

Probably not the most popular opinion here, but I know that SC at least started out with the idea that solid ship customization would be a real thing in SC. I never really see or hear anything about it anymore, ship specialization seems to be the rule now.

What I'm talking about here is some sort of multi-role functionality for the vast majority of ships out there. It strikes me as really strange (and expensive I might add) to need a different ship for each role.

Will CIG ever do this? I've been waiting over 4 years for them to implement this idea, but it almost feels like they never intended this in the first place for some reason. Am I alone in thinking this?

Some confusion surrounding the logic of the new flight model

So they had a panel discussing the new flight model, and how certain ships would have more “pitch authority” vs others having “yaw authority”

Then they used examples.. one of which makes no sense: the hornet.

David Colson said the hornet would have more yaw authority than pitch.. but this makes no sense because the hornet only has 2 thrusters which can provide lateral thrust (the dorsal thrusters can gimbal in all directions, while the ventral thrusters can only pitch on one axis: from to back)

So, there are 2 thrusters that can arrest lateral vectors, and 4 that can arrest vertical vectors.. yet the ship still prefers yaw?

If the hornet only has 2 thrusters that can push it sideways, and 4 that can push it “up” then the most efficient vector changes would by default be a roll/pitch up in order to allow those 4 ventral thrusters to do their work.

This may have been mentioned before but I think it'd be a super cool game mechanic to have different level difficulty bases/space stations to control and they would give the org/player that controls it a credit payout every hour or something it is controlled. There can be limits on how many can be controlled total or in a certain area to prevent one org from taking them all over or something. They could have different types of heavy infantry/vehicles to fight for the higher level ones so we can have at least one fun gameplay use for these drop ships/military vehicles as well. what do you guys think?

Star Citizen Patch 3.3.0m Alpha Patch 3.3.0m has been released to the PTU, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: PTU-958784.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizenPTU\LIVE.

Please monitor ptu test chat in spectrum for updates and testing instructions.

USER.cfg settings: r_displayinfo = 3

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the "Testing Focus".

Testing Focus

Valkyrie Constellation Phoenix Hammerhead Reworked Mustangs Cyclone variants. Manned turrets. Changes to ship cannons. Power management, overpower, and overclocking ship systems and components.

Major Known Issues:

Inviting someone to party via the mG causes a client crash. W/A: Invite via interaction mode. In-game chat services may not be working correctly. Ships rented from the front-end do not show up in ship selection list. Airlocks lack lighting. HUD vanishes when using a ground vehicle. Ships are able to quantum travel to locations they do not have enough fuel to reach. Visor chat channel does not work. W/A: Hit the "bell" icon twice.

Feature Updates Missions

Re-enabled scramble race mission visor HUD. Updated the loadouts of Kareah FPS combat AI. Removed the instant rewards for killing FPS combat AI during the mission, which will now be handed out at the end of the mission.

UI

Added a reststop model to the Starmap.

Bug Fixes

Fixed head snap during bed exit. There should no longer be a skin off-set between the head and body of the character in the customizer. The top part of the Valkyrie's rear door should now have collision. Fixed an issue where players weren't dropping pickups in Arena Commander Battle Royale. Races abandoned by other players should no longer be able to be accepted by others afterward. The Starmap should no longer take several seconds to load. Fixed an issue where the objective UI wouldn't vanish after objective is completed for scramble races.

Technical

A cool way for CIG to let us use free* ships

Hey everyone, just a random thought passing by.

What do you think about the idea of finding abandoned ships/vehicles on the moons or planets? They could use the derelict places we saw a while ago, and put in there some almost-destroyed ships, with no owner and, if you can, go and repair it or use it in the moment. Also you wouldn't be able to insurance them or anything so it would just serve as a "use-it-while-you-can" sort of thing, until it gets destroyed or you leave the game (if it doesn't have a bed).

It'll bring more exploration to the empty moons we have now, as you wouldn't know where to find them. Maybe you can detect them with the scan if you are near.

I think that it would be something really nice to have, specially for people who only have one ship; or if you're playing with a friend,one can take the ship while the other escorts him to Cry-Astro for example.

Also, if we think about it, during some gameplay events that they've shown, they find these "free ships". Like the Dragonfly in the abandoned Starfarer wreck or two in the Leir III Demo. Also a Nox in Hurston, yet we don't have any of that in the game right now, as far as I know.

So it'd be cool if we have some places like that where we can find this sort of things, or if it's a reward for a mission or something, in which they wouldn't be damaged.
