I like that little ship. I know exploration isn't implemented yet, the key area Terrapin operates. Anyway, the current loadout can't even crack Avenger's shield in missions. Hope SC will give the design more thoughts.

What's your experience about the offensive capabilities? I know Terrapin isn't supposed to fight, more run. But weapons which aren't any threat at all seem pointless!

Hey everyone, I really enjoy the current PTU version but there is one thing that is breaking my immersion for a while now, it's ships disappearing (or suddenly appearing) at a specific distance. I assume this is done to improve performance but it bugs me that ships or some objects in general are just popping up at some point. I was wondering if there are any plans (maybe with future improvements like SSOCS) to improve this and make ships or other objects like outposts, etc. render until we would actually be unable to see them.

Its an indescribable feeling to play this game. Every thing I had to imagine or RP during my Freelancer days, I can actually do in star citizen. Just the small things - powering up the ship manually, opening the side doors on my Cutlass, having to have a helmet and suit on to go outside space stations, watching the maneuvering thrusters make their fine adjustments...I am a believer all over again.

There are things I hope they address - the feeling of weight to thrust management seems very stiff, you accelerate extremely rapidly when taking off, landing and strafing at zero throttle. I'd expect snappiness from smaller ships, but the Cutlass is a big girl, it feels like there should be some push back/compensation when using you the thrusters.

Other than that...I cant wait for this game, I'm mentally arguing with myself about getting another ship and some sort of rover. I think I can hold out, but im legitimately excited for 3.5 to go fully live.

watch a player character (male or female) in a standard standing idle anim and 'that thing ain't breathing' i.e. the chest isn't expanding and contracting due to a breathing sub-animation.

I know this works when you're sleep-idling i.e. on your back, but its isn't in as a standard for all anims... surely this'd be a certain way to show your STAMINA state, by the rate and intensity of the chest-breathing anim?

Was there a technical reason why it was nerf'd?

I don't usually post here but I think this is worth sharing. With the new flight model I have to say that my love for dog fighting has been completely revitalised after avoiding fighting over the last year or so. This is not just because of new mechanics and balancing though. I don't know if I have just been lucky or what but it has been you the community that have really brought it back for me. So far I have not been in a single server where people have been toxic or raging in the chat about being beat in a fight or trash talking because they fancy themselves an ace pilot. My experience so far has been friendly duels with follow up discussions trading tips sharing tactics and over all just friendly sportsmanship. I have learned and taught new things over this past few days to many pilots and it has brought me back to when I first backed the game and was met with nothing but a warm and welcoming community. So yeah that is my story to share with you all as a thanks to you the community for bringing back the enjoyment for me. Thank you all and good hunting.

NPS companion planned for the PU?

Hello guys,

on the Squadron 42 Roadmap there is a feature called "Companion AI" listed for Q3 2019. It states:

" Developing the ability for the player to fight alongside a companion NPC. The goal is to create a system in which you will be given the chance to have a companion that you can actively direct, but that is also smart enough to guide the player, support them in firefights, and potentially provide ammunition or health packs, to lead the mission to success. "

It would be a very interesting addition in my opinion to have one or even multiple AI crewmembers, who could help you clear out those bunkers on Hurston for example. Of course they wouldnt replace a proper human player, similar to AI crewmembers on ships, but it could open up a lot of gameplay and roleplay possibilities. If you think about companions in games like Skyrim, they realy add a lot to your solo experience, especially the more complex modded ones in this game.

I was wondering if there is any information if CIG intends to add such a AI buddy system to the PU as well? And what do you think about such a AI buddy system in the PU?

Hi,

I am tooken from Germany and I thought I just ask here for a moment. I am relatively new and would like to concentrate fully on mining.

But for financial reasons, I'll probably never be able to afford the MISC PROSPECTOR and it will only stay with the starter package.

For these reasons, I thought to myself, I'll just ask here. Maybe someone has one that he no longer needs and the goodness has to give it to me. Yes, I know that it would be a damn lot of money and probably this is a totally stupid idea.

But different, asking costs nothing and it is worth a try.
