I was playing Civ 6 the other day and had to move an apostle next to a natural wonder and it got me thinking... what if we could find natural wonders in Star Citizen? Something that would have some sort of quantifiable beauty stat. This stat could be used in a variety of ways:

  • Tourism. If you are transporting people, you could get bonus UEC or reputation by taking your fares or VIPs by some impressive visuals.
  • Exploration: How will people know about these natural wonders unless an explorer finds it? Maybe explorers could create a beacon and get a commission every time someone buys the data.
  • Maybe the Tana Mako could even take a news crew out to document the natural wonder (and give it something to do).
  • A tourist spot might be a great place for some pirate activity... Lots of unsuspecting tourists ripe for the picking! An unscrupulous org may ask for "protection fees."
  • Outposts: A tourist destination may be a great spot to set up a Merchantman to sell to the crowds! The tourists will probably be very happy to know that an org has set up an outpost nearby to protect them.


These natural wonders could be temporary - a space anomaly may only hang around for 30 days. Like temporary jumps/wormholes, this gives explorers a reason to keep getting out there. Maybe these wonders could even randomly spawn based on player actions. A geyser is created when you're mining on a planet's surface, a quantum rift forms when you interdict someone, or a colorful dust cloud hangs around after a Starfarer gets blown up by pirates. There could also be other mysterious aliens that pop in to the verse for a short time like the schools of space whales planned for future.



These would not be mission beacons or existing QT stops. You'd have to go out of your way to find them into dangerous areas. A hard to reach wonder in the middle of an asteroid field would be a huge opportunity, but it may require the best Starliner pilot in the Verse to get there safely. This would create a number of exciting emergent gameplay loops.



This seems MUCH more fun than just taking a VIP from point A to point B. SC is one of the most beautiful games out there, and we can use that to our advantage. Thoughts?

Pocket Carrier - The Missing Ship Class

I want a ship that is specifically designed to accommodate and field a small contingent of fighters (3-5 dependent on make) and their pilots. It should be lightly-armed (no more than 2 turrets for defense) and armored; almost completely reliant upon its fighters for offensive capabilities.

Why do I want this? I play with a smallish group of relatively casual players. Not everybody will jump on every night we play so I want a roving base where we can log in and out from and not have to worry about spending half our play time to travel across the galaxy to meet up. I want enough ships for people to be able to work together, do their own thing, or split off into groups. I don't want people to be stuck in a turret all the time, or down in engineering repairing the engines, or just stuck inside a ship with nothing to do. I don't feel like I should have to own a $1500 Idris or $1700 Kraken to do this.

Something like this may not make sense for the current state of the game but when we start getting more systems (especially less developed systems with fewer stations and refuel points), traveling to meet up across systems is going to go from a 10-20 minute process to a multi-hour affair (perhaps even impossible with a small, short-range fighter).

Something like this would make the game immensely enjoyable for me and my crew... it's not too much to ask, is it CIG? Pleeeaaaaasssseeee....

Hello all. I had some random thoughts during my sleepless night about video games.

I have been playing video games since my earliest memory. I'm 28 now, and am part of that generation.

It seems to me the norm for the industry now is to make a game. Support it for a couple years. Then let the community figure itself out till the next game is released at Christmas time.

One thing I try to emphasize to my interested friends is how lasting they plan on this game being. There is no star citizen 2. There might be a sequel for sq42 sure, but star citizen is supposed to be a lasting game. It's why I can invest the money. I'm investing in my future of gaming.

I don't want to buy a new game every 6 months. I want to really dive in head first and commit and learn everything about the lore.. The gameplay.. The community.. It's getting harder and harder to do that with modern games.

Already with the point SC is at I spend a majority of my precious gaming time playing it. I can't wait till I really won't need other games.

Maybe I'm over optimistic.. But I mean my majority of hours besides SC are skyrim, warband and jk2 anyways... I play games a long time if I can..

I maybe woke the angry reddit Cthulu with this but oh well

Been playing since 3.9.0 drop night ~ needless to say i love the game. Also needless to say i didnt really think through my purchases IRL ~



I have the Titan Game package, upgraded into the Cutlass Black. I also bought the Reliant Tana during fleet week with 120 month insurance.



Having flown the Tana, i can take or leave it. its cheap enough in game so w/e. The Cutlass is all i really care about, and with the GRIN ROC ... I need that in my life.

My gut tells me to melt the upgrade on my titan, CCU the Tana to Cutlass B, then figure it out from there.

I was also going to get the g12 for a lti token, but i guess that boat has sailed. So smart veterans of SC, please help me mismanage my money effectively!@
